Dubied Knit course with a FREE Industrial Machine Knitting book
This is a 5-day course teaching you how to use Dubied industrial hand flat knitting machines. This industrial knitting machine course runs from 12 pm to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. This 5-day course can be stretched over 2 weeks to suit your availability, upon discussion. You will also receive a copy of Szilvia’s book, Industrial Machine Knitting for free at the start of the course.
Whether you’re completely new to knitting or looking to refresh your existing skills, the Dubied Industrial Knitting Machine Course provides a comprehensive introduction to knitting with a Dubied industrial hand-flat machine. No previous experience with knitwear or knitting machinery is required.
You’ll learn how the machine works, explore its capabilities, and develop the skills needed to set up and operate it safely and confidently. The course offers intensive, hands-on instruction, with plenty of time to practise, experiment, and explore a range of different knitting techniques.
All equipment and yarns are provided, along with comprehensive technical notes and instructions to support your learning throughout the course. Our yarn collection includes various fibres such as cotton, wool, linen, polyester, polypropylene, nylon, elastane, yarn blends and more technical yarns such as monofilament, Conductive, Solvron, Grilon and silk & steel.
During the course, you’ll be introduced to a variety of industrial machine-knitting techniques using machines in different gauges. You’ll have the opportunity to work with 12gg, 10gg, and 7gg Dubied knitting machines, allowing you to explore how different gauges create fabrics with varying textures, scales, and thicknesses.
You will learn the following techniques:
Casting on and off (plain and rib cast on)
Plain single and double bed fabric
Stitch transfer
Racking
Pleats (pencil, knife, and Box pleats)
Ribbing
Ripple
Cardigan and Milano stitches
Holding Checks
Pockets
Circular knitting

Please note that everyone learns at their own pace, so depending on your individual experience and learning style, you may not have the opportunity to cover every technique included in the course, rest assured you will learn the basics, which then you cwan apply onto using any industrial hand machine.
