Whether you’re completely new to knitting or looking to refresh your existing skills, the Dubied Industrial Knitting Machine Course provides a comprehensive introduction to knitting with a Dubied industrial hand-flat machine. No previous experience with knitwear or knitting machinery is required.

You’ll learn how knitting machines work and explore their capabilities, with plenty of hands-on time to practise, experiment, and create a variety of samples to develop your skills.
All equipment and yarns are provided, along with comprehensive technical notes and instructions to support your learning throughout the course. Our yarn collection includes various fibres such as cotton, wool, linen, polyester, polypropylene, nylon, elastane, yarn blends and more technical yarns such as monofilament, Conductive, Solvron, Grilon and silk & steel.
You will learn the following techniques:
Casting on and off
Stripes
Increasing & Decreasing (shaping)
Lace Holes and ladders
Joining
Tucking
We use Silver Reed (SK280) knitting machines on the course. All equipment and yarns will be provided, along with technical notes to take home with instructions for everything we've covered in the class.
